Always listen to God!

I finished 1 Samuel today.

In the last few chapters David continues to do well in his battles, but in the last chapter King Saul dies in his final battle with the Philistines.

However, before Saul died he consulted with a witch, even though he had banned all mediums and wizards from Israel and had executed them. What is amazing is that God used the situation, the medium to speak to Saul, it wasn’t good news and it was bad that Saul turned to the occult instead of God, but it’s so cool how God turns up. It just goes to show that he is totally in charge and his ways are so not our ways.

I have been reminded today of God’s awesome power and the need to turn to Him in times of difficulty and stress. If we turn to anyone or anything else, then it will be a disaster, as we learn from Saul’s sad ending.

As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9

‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts’

Always listen to God!
