This week our theme is about how we all love kindness and we have a story written by Andy B about a kindly passer-by. In this story, there are some interesting characters, including Norbert the Nutritional guy and Peter the Pizza man!
Our Art Time this week is a little different as Andy gets baking and shows us how to make Golden syrup cookies with chocolate chips – very yummy!
We are joined again by Peter and our Tech Team – this week: Andy B and Nathan. And if you look carefully you will notice another special guest from a cuddly friend! See if you can guess who!
For Art Time Baking you will need:
- 2 table spoons of golden syrup (about 40ml)
- 400 g self-raising flour
- 200 g caster sugar
- 200 g butter
- chocolate chips (optional extra)
This makes enough for about 24 larger cookies.
Bake in an oven, at 160 degrees (fan oven) for around 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown (we baked at 160 degrees in a gas oven, and they took around 180-20 minutes to get golden brown). Leave to cool until they harden before putting on a cooling rack and enjoy!
If you would like to continue looking at Kindness, we can heartily recommend the links below for random acts of kindness. And you could check out the two YouTube links. One is a sweet video of children being kind with their lunch and the second one is a Skitguys Bedtime Bible Stories – The Good Samaritan – which is funny!:
